November was a wonderful blur of friends, cooking, eating and drinking. We literally ran a hotel / restaurant for the entire month (week and weekends) with, as a finale, a Thanksgiving meal for 18! My dad came to stay with us and enjoyed the company of many of our friends, both local and non-local (Chery and Lenny from the States and Laure). He also experienced his first Thanksgiving which we spent, as it has now become tradition, at Cat and Dave's. Then on Saturday, as it has also become tradition, we hosted our own Thanksgiving dinner. Unfortunately, our regular Thanksgiving guests, the Jacobs, had to cancel their visit at the last minute due to a swine flu scare. Thank goodness it was "just" a bad case of the flu which felled our man Sebastian but with an 8kg / 18 lbs turkey on our hands and 5 less guests, we had to rally some eating back-up! It's amazing how quickly we found friends willing to help.....Agnès and Devon, Hilde and Tom, Hilary and Willem Jan and Anne-Marie. The meal was awesome and the company outstanding but we did miss the London crew.... At least we had gotten to see Pete and Elizabeth earlier in the month during an adults-only weekend in Burgundy. What a great weekend! You guys think you can fly in from Boston next year for a repeat? A special thanks to Dave Graves for agreeing to be the official Thanksgiving photographer!
