Sixteen years of marriage! What better way to celebrate than with a weekend getaway to Paris and tickets to U2's latest 360° tour! Blessed are our wonderful friends without whose generous childsitting services and hospitality we could not have enjoyed such a treat. While Alexa was safely and happily in the hands of our neighbors Anne-Marie and Enrico, we strolled through our old haunts in Paris, loved every minute of the concert and slept like angels in Pierre & Virgnie's peaceful love nest. Thanks to all! Isa arriving at the Stade de France / Alexa - a picture worth a 1000 words! Mid-July, Alexa and I took a roadtrip! Our first stop was Carpentras, where we spent the night with Laure (Alexa's godmother) who is expecting.....we are sooo happy for her! She and her beau Fabien have a lovely little house and we enjoyed a delicious dinner on their terrace with Monique and Bernard (Laure's parents) who came to join us. Then we were off to Toulouse to see Tata Sonia (my youngest sister) who was introducing cousin Alexandre to France. It was very hot in Toulouse but my mom's house is a true haven and we enjoyed relaxing times on the terrace while the kids splashed in the pool. click top right icon for full screen
And on to Agen to pick up Mamie, a quick stop on the way to Cambo - our ultimate destination. As some of you may know, my Dad's wife Annie has been sick with cancer for many years and, after many miraculous remissions, took a turn for the worse earlier this year. Our time left with her, we fear, is short and our visit was heavy with sadness. Alexa's presence and energy was a blessing - it was a constant reminder of the joy of life........ click top right icon for full screen
